Emergency Preparedness Week 3 - 9 May, 2026
May 4th, 2026
TODAY MARKS THE START OF EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS WEEK | MAY 3–9, 2026
At The Property Consulting Group Inc., the safety and well-being of our tenants remains a top priority.
Today marks the beginning of Emergency Preparedness Week in Canada; an important reminder that being prepared can make all the difference during unexpected events such as wildfires, severe weather, power outages, or other emergencies.
This year’s theme is: “In It Together”
Strong communities begin with prepared neighbours.
We encourage all tenants to take a few simple steps this week to help protect yourselves, your families, and your community:
- Prepare a 72-hour emergency kit
- Make a household emergency plan
- Save important emergency contact numbers
- Stay informed through Alberta Emergency Alerts
- Replace batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
- Change your furnace filter to improve indoor air quality during wildfire season
- Keep building entrance doors secured in multi-family buildings
- Do not allow unknown individuals into secured buildings
- Get to know your neighbours and build a communicative community
- Check in with seniors or residents who may need extra support
Your emergency kit should include:
- Water
- Non-perishable food
- Flashlights
- Batteries
- Medications
- Phone chargers
- First aid supplies
In multi-family living, preparedness goes beyond your individual suite - it also means helping create a safer building for everyone by staying aware, communicating openly, and looking out for one another.
Preparedness is not just about protecting your home - it is about protecting your community.
Thank you for helping us build safe, connected, and resilient communities.
